BODY MASSAGES

THAI MASSAGE

Originated in India, Thai Massage reached Thailand over 2000 years ago with the spreading of Buddhism across South East Asia. Thai Massage looks like a mixture of acupressure, yoga and shiatsu and it involves slow, rhythmic compressions and stretches along the body’s energy lines (Sen).

Thai Massage works along the main 10 energy lines of the body and the massage therapist uses palms of the hands, thumbs, elbows, knees and feet, as well as placing the client into yoga like postures, while gently rocking the body to free tension and release blockages in joints, muscles and in the energy body of the person.

Thai Massage is performed on a thin mat on the floor on the clothed body and there is no use of oils.

Some of the benefits of Thai Massage are:

  • Increases flexibility and postural alignment
  • Stimulates blood and lymph circulation
  • Loosens up stiff muscles and joints
  • Relieves back pain and headaches
  • Calms the nervous system, promoting relaxation
  • Stimulates proper functioning of internal organs
  • Increases energy levels
  • Balances body, mind and spirit

Thai Massage Sessions: 60 minutes – 350 Baht / 90 minutes – 500 Baht

OIL MASSAGE

Developed by a Swedish Physiologist, this kind of Massage uses 5 main techniques (stroking, kneading, rubbing, tapping, shaking) to ease muscle tension and to promote relaxation.

The main purpose of Swedish massage is to increase the oxygen flow in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. Swedish Massage stretches the ligaments and tendons keeping them supple and pliable. It also stimulates the skin and nervous system and soothes the nerves. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being. A base oil is used and the pressure applied varies from very gentle for a relaxing treatment, medium to energize the entire system, deep to release severe muscle tension.

  • REIKI

Reiki (pronounced Ray-key) is a Japanese name consisting of 2 words Rei and Ki meaning spiritually guided life energy (commonly known as Universal Life Energy), an energy which animates us all and is found all around us.
Reiki is a form of spiritual healing using "universal life energy" channelled through the practitioner to the recipient.
Reiki helps to harmonize body, mind and spirit for yourself or anyone you want to help.

Reiki is a technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
